Lookbook Report | Carin Wester Fall 2009

With Carin Wester, your either bored with her or your heart almost stops at the sight of one of her pieces, I take the later. For her fall 2009 collection, she goes with the predictable sense, strangely in an unpredictable way. With femininity being present all throughout spring, no one expected any for the fall season yet Wester adds her feminine touch to a range that is exclusively hers. Expected, considering that's the Wester way. With a colour palette full of grays, black, and peaks of rich color, the collection is fitting for fall in every way. Knitwear, billowy tops, and tailored blazers are balanced out with high-waisted trousers that feel right at home with the current and while Wester took a plunge at including femininity in the collection, she intelligently picks a colour palette and structure that is equally masculine. Despite a few ruffles and polka-dots, which make the collection the success that it is, Carin Wester has helped to usher in a fall season where masculine menswear will prevail and femininity will be reserved for the women, at least most of the time.
