Collection Report | Wood Wood S/S 2010

Though Copenhagen is far from our nation's capital, their annual Copenhagen Fashion Week is still very much on our radar. During their week of fashion oriented events, Wood Wood debuted their S/S 2010 collection and while the collection delivers on a fashion front, practicality...not so much. While the collection consist of trousers, jeans, knitwear, jackets, and sweaters - traditional menswear, no doubt - we have to remember that this is a spring/summer collection. While knitwear isn't entirely appropriate for summer, this begs the question as to whether seasonal distinguishing clothing is becoming a thing of the past. But all that aside, the Danish brand mixed typical American sportswear with a very preppy style to create this classic collection of European flair with American construction. While the color palette is very much toned down, we can't hope but have our eyes livened up with the gladiator footwear present. Seems as if the Danish are all confused, mixing knitwear with sandals and American sportswear with European flair...and while I am a bit flabbergasted I cant help but think it all works.
