Many may describe Yves Saint Laurent's latest collection as disastrous and without proper taming, but without a doubt that is what Stefano Pilati was going for with the spring 2010 collection. Sloppy and ill-fitting, the collection is made up upon layers and layers of droopy silhouettes and low necklines. Shapeless trousers that are just as baggy as their top counterparts, the collection is seemingly too heavy for winter. With a dark, mud colour palette, the collection seems without a theme - going from up to down. Regardless of how lost the collection seems, surprisingly he gives great options, which can barely be said about menswear. From winged cardigans, wide coats, double breasted jackets, and shoulderless jackets, each piece is wonderful but together they form a mess. Unexpected, the collection is lost but at the same time the collection is genius.
