Paris Fashion Week | Jean-Paul Gaultier S/S 2010

With barrier-breaking pieces, the always outrageous and controversial Gaultier presents a gender-blurring spring 2010 collection. Bustiers fit for the most masculine man, the collection collection is eccentric with mixed colors that provide for a variety. Very much the focal point of the collection, the bustiers are present underneath everything like blazers, that present a wonderful contrast between femininity and masculinity. Sheer jackets to match the spring season, the collection is light, fresh, and fun. Skirts with a solid color base are present while denim is also thrown in for fun measures to appeal to a younger audience base. The collection, as innovative and fresh as it is, is for the younger crowd. While we can appreciate such innovation, the collection brings a modern take on menswear that most will shy away from.
