Too often do we see men hit that pivotal age of...say 50, and forget about their looks all together. No more dying those greys, no more keeping the facial hair, nose hair, and ear hair trimmed, and no more taking minimal effort when deciding what garments go on your back.
While I excuse no one for such behavior, it could have something to do with the fact that most designers and labels either offer hipster collections for the young in their 20s and below, or tailored collections for men between 30 and 40. Why cant their be a stylish and hip collection for men enjoying their heyday that do not consist of too large suits and 'Bill Cosby sweaters'?
I guess this was the inspiration that gave way for the Hickey A/W 09 collection. Featuring grown and stylish looks that can be found on many young 'hipsters' today, their wise looking model is seen wearing playful suits, cool and casual sweaters, plaid shirts, cardigans, and even an uber-stylish double-breasted pea coat.
Take note all...this is how your retirement years should be spent. I imagine this is how the Golden Girls would expect their male counterparts to look.
