Accessories Report | McQ by Alexander McQueen Brooches

Ive said it before - here - and Ill say it again, brooches are the next big thing in menswear. They have been popping up in the collection's of top designers for a few seasons and now they are finally being taken mainstream. An easy accessory that is as easy as pinning it to a blazer or jacket, they simply add a layer of 'umph' to something that is otherwise plain and lackluster. These Mcq by Alexander Mcqueen Blue & Red pin brooches will give you the edge you need to stand-out, yet can barely be taken out of context because...well, their so simple. Plus, featuring an embossed logo, you'll get the pride of letting all the fashion forward folks know that you are wearing Alexander McQueen.

Shoe Report | Band of Outsider’s Sperry Rubber Boat Shoe Collection

Innovation happens to be one of the great wonders of the world, which explains why I have a great love for the collaboration that Band of Outsiders did with Sperry for Fall 09. Such a powerful force to be reckoned with, the collaboration resulted in a variety of rubber footwear that put a new definition to the term 'reinvent'. Bringing a new twist to the boat shoe trend, Band of Outsiders brought modernity to the classic like never before and while this range will gain criticism from many, without a doubt you can say that it is a new look all itself and a fall trend that everyone should look out for.

Accessories Report | Soulland Runway Hats

The strong advocate for head gear that I am, I whole heatedly recommend going the equestrian route with these hats from Soulland's runway show. A direct result from the crossbreeding of a fedora and a fitted flat-brim baseball cap, the accessory was meant to be a part of the Spring 2010 collection but my thought is that fall is meant for hats, and I guess designer Silas Adler feels the same way. More information from Soulland.

Buy Report | Paul Smith Floral Cervantes Shoes

While I will be the first one to pull for bare essentials and simplicity when it comes to this fall, one area that I think deserves no reservation is accessories. Lets start from the bottom-up with these Paul Smith Floral Cervantes Shoes. While floral is very hard to pull off, with the fall trend of simplicity it should be an attainable fleet, ensuring that you keep everything balanced. Stray away from bold colors to accompany with and go for muted solids. Follow these simple rules - no pun intended - and you will succeed at looking like a handsome rose garden as opposed to an overdone jungle. Oh, and just another tip...keep away from the Hill but try for Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, and just about anywhere else. More information from Paul Smith and views after the jump.

Accessories Report | Bottega Veneta Fall 2009

Quality is the driving force for the fall 2009 season, and Bottega Veneta approaches this in a way all their own - focusing on the quality of luxuries as opposed to simplicity. With an emphasis on such goods as crocodile, ostrich, and leather, quality is written all over the collection. Revealing the more feminine side of menswear - that is very much a trend of their own for the fall - the accessories include small clutch-like briefcases, messenger bags, totes, and carry alls, just to name a few. Not to leave out small leather goods, an assortment of wallets accompany their larger counterparts like offspring. Footwear is kept classic while bow ties, gloves, and much more are at their disposal. Not to allow the worry's of the world to affect the fantasy that is fashion, Veneta captures the lux life that we all aspire for within the reach of an accessories range.
