Seiko Power Design Project

Since 2002, Seiko’s Power Design Project features innovative new artists expressing their view of wristwatches. For 2008’s exhibit, the Design Project took a new approach. “Thinking about what would result if SEIKO itself was to try its hand at designing such industrial watches led us to the theme for this year – “TOKYO”. Rather than the watch-like feel brought into Japan from Europe, the watches here are bound to give you a “Tokyo-like” feel. In Japan, a country whose strong point lies in its attention to detail in the creation of things, the watches here are bound to feel more familiar, somehow Japanese…Tokyo-ish.”

J.Crew x Sperry Top-Siders

I hate when a pair of other wise dOPE. shoes are completely ruined by something as meaningless and irrelevant as the sole. Sadly, that when I think J. Crew did here, with the help of classic boat-shoe makers Sperry Top-Sider. I cant exactly put my finger on it, either the soles are too thick or dont conform correctly with the shape of the rest of the shoe. Plus, add the fact that they selfishly decided to stamp their name on the sole-hello, what do you think the inside of the tongue is for-and you have the little shoe that almost was.

I'd still buy them though, dont let my slide remarks form your opinion.

JEWELLERY FOR YOUR HOUSE-LITERALLY

artist inges idée designed giant sized jewellery to install on the karlsplatzparking garage in düsseldorf, germany. a total of ten individual pieces were created and threaded onto thegarage’s perforated façade for the 2004 installation. the jewellery idée designed was meant to represent thoseof the shoppers in the adjoining fashion center. the works literally transform the building into a jewellerydisplay case.

this is beyond dOPE.

F.C.R.B. 2009 Spring/Summer Collection

the clothes are either completely horrendous and dry for casual wear or absolutely splendid and dOPE. for athletic wear, you decide. Its not the clothing that im focusing on though, its the presentation. What I would give to had been a fly on the wall during the production of these photos.
