LAST DAY | Saturday Giveaway: A Gentleman's Watch

Long overdue, I have finally made the decision to roll out what you love. No, not a young and eager female intern on the Hill - that would be entirely inappropriate and might even land you somewhere in Argentina following in the footsteps of so many others(would the real Governor Sanford please stand up). I'm talking about a giveaway! And ss much as I love offering up free swag for my readers, I am not a component of cheap and quality-less things(*uh hum cough* young and eager female interns on the Hill) so when it came time to reintroduce our giveaway series, it easily became a task worth noting. I searched high and low - even stopping to look at an Hurmes(yes, that is how it was spelled) briefcase that a street vendor was selling - but nothing seemed appropriate for the dedicated readers of District Cut, and the budget added complications as well(the Gucci loafers that I originally thought of were too much stimulation for the economy). Then it dawned on me...all my talk on the need for bare essentials should be reflected upon in this giveaway. What's more of a bare essential for a professional gentleman than a quality watch?

A watch is a piece meant to be subtle so not to distract from your entire look, but noticeable enough to make a statement. And above all else, everyone needs to know the time. Men's Watches come in many different forms - analog, digital, informal, formal, and the list can go on and on. Staying in sync with bare essentials, it only makes since to go with a piece that is an easy common ground between the two - formal and informal. Orient Watch's model 2ER00001B is a great example of a transition piece between formal and informal; its use of stainless steel is a direct reasoning for this. Their CEM5J005W model(pictured below) is a great transition piece as well, and has a sense of youthfulness that is unsurpassed. Best of yet, it won't land you in the trouble that a young and eager female intern on the Hill will; the Orient Watch CEM5J005W is today's giveaway.

Features: it's automatic (doesn't require batteries!), water resistant up to 50meters, stainless steel bracelet and case, day/date display and it has luminous hands and markers.

Finally!!!! Another giveaway, and a good one too. My favorite fall trend would have to be snoods simply because they are more convenient than scarves.

Gotta love all the great flannels. They're so versatile and, most importantly, keep you warm without the bulk.
