Its been widely reported and highly seen that the lines that separate womenswear from menswear are vastly blurring. In today's time where skirts are walked down the runway by men, sequin is becoming a regular fabric in menswear, and briefcases are becoming more and more feminine and used more casually, it should come to no surprise that designers have recently showcased clutches in their menswear collection. The likes of Prada, Marni, Dolce & Gabbana, and Salvatore Ferragamo all feature this newly-arising trend that has sneaked-up quietly, but it is now making a splash and catching the attention of editors everywhere. Funny thing is, it seems much more masculine than feminine. Most done in tough leather, they are larger than what we usually see in womenswear and when paired with a masculine outfit that gives a silhouette fit for the masculine physique, they can look utterly chic and casually professional. My only worry is, will this trend catch on to mainstream America and the rest of the world? Will the general public understand? And which senator or Hill staffer will we catch sporting the trend first? More views after the jump.
