Australian brand Mjolk's love of well well fitted pieces is put up for criticizing in their 2010 Spring collection. With intense tailoring that doesn't just include tight fitting clothes, like the usual, the collection includes silhouettes that are balanced out with close fitting tops, wide bottoms, and broad outerwear. With fittings ranging from tight knit, relaxed sloppiness, and wide figures, we are given a variety of forms to choose from. Looks vary from up tight prep to casual comfortable wear, yet they all coincide with a timeless aesthetic that is arguably at the forefront. Belting is present throughout, which is an obvious focus and used in interesting manners that continue to help balance out looks that are already busy, yet they only enhance the collection. Footwear accompanies and contributes to a timeless aesthetic with a modern approach, something that we see often but not in this way. Makes me look forward to more collection to come.
