The collection started as a homage to the recent textile work of Louis Bourgeois, which is
comprised of checks, ginghams and polka dots. Bourgoise’s use of patterned fabric led to an
interest in New York street gangs of the 1970’s, which were famous their tight tank tops and
bandannas and were eventually channeled by ACNE through tie-dyed and paisley print
boxer shorts and tanks.
