Collection Report | Commonwealth Utilities S/S 2010

A clear example of how influential basics can be in ones look, Commonwealth Utilities has given me even more reason to keep around the basics that I accumulate during the fall for the spring season as well. Providing a somewhat intelligent balance between casual and dress, the designers paired suiting pieces with casual basics - easily providing a spring outlook with fall pieces. A color palette of light, dark, and nothing else, the collection can be easily dissected and isn't in the least bit complicated. Seersucker makes a much expected appearance, much to my delight, and keeps things looking as fresh as ever. Light knitwear, thin suiting, and clean whites are an easy transition and while the collection can come off as being a bit tame...isn't that what basics are about. If nothing else, the collection provides the perfect inspiration for your summer wardrobe choices.
